Can the plugin import share counts from my existing plugin? I don’t want to lose share counts on multiple posts over several years. Or can the old share counts be manually updated in your plugin for every post?

No importing of data is required. The actual share counts come from the social services (Facebook, Pinterest, etc). The plugin will periodically ask those services “how often has this URL been shared on your service?” and save that number in the database.

As long as the URLs are unchanged, the share count data should also be unchanged.

You could test this by installing Shared Counts but not enabling the buttons to appear on the frontend. When you edit a post, you’ll see the current share count for that post in the Shared Counts box in the right column of the editor.

Thanks for your response. I installed the plugin, using the API key. I replaced my earlier plugin, which was showing 13 as total share count for a particular post, but I can’t see any share count (on the same post) with Shared Counts. Why is that? Does it take time (say, hours or days) before it fetches that data? I checked ‘Count Total Only’ option.
