Import problem from LJ to WP 2.0.3 — posts disappearing!

I’ve encountered a weird problem with the WP import tool. For a start, I’m running a clean install of 2.0.3. I’m trying to import four years of Livejournal posts via the WP import tool.

I used the LJ tool LJ Backup to make XML file of my accounts; it did so successfully — I can see when I open the raw files that all the entries are there. When I upload these files (separate Livejournal accounts, thus seperate files) into my WP install with the import tool, only the first ten entries of each file turn up.

Now, I know there should be more than ten entries; one file has 900+ and another file has 400+, for example, but I am only getting ten. Any ideas as to why this is, and how I can fix it?
