Hi guys, I’ve been using the old WordPress Product Review plugin and would like to remove it as it is long since unsupported. Can I use the Otter review block to import these old reviews somehow? Or perhaps there is another way? Someone told me to take screenshots and re-enter everything but this feels like an impossible task at this point given my dozens of reviews!

    Hi @mikefitzman,

Thank you for being a loyal user and for trying to use Otter!

For these situations, we prepared a doc that explains how to migrate from WP Product Review to Otter – https://docs.themeisle.com/article/1360-migrating-from-wp-product-review-to-otters-review-block.

    I hope this helps!

    Best regards,

    Hi Andreea

Thank you so much for this reply and helpful information.?I replied to your email but the response does not appear here for some reason.

One problem – neither method works for me. Do I need Otter Pro to allow these import functions to work? Neither the first nor second methods work, there is no import block or migrate to block button. I’m using WPPR Lite – is this something to do with it perhaps?

I feel like I am so close here and happy to use Otter, I just need a way to import these reviews! Happy to discuss any possible solutions to this problem.

    Hi Mike,

This import process can be done using free version of the Otter too, there is no need of the pro version. Could you please record a screencast of the issue using tools like loom.com and share the screencast with us?

This will help us identify the issue.

I am looking forward to your reply, thank you!

    Hi Kush

Thank you, I’ve not used a screen recoding tool before but will do so as I am keen to resolve this issue. Bear with me and I will respond here once I’ve captured something useful.

Hi Kush, my apologies, I’ve been unable to arrange a screen record yet, is there any other way you guys can look at this or does it have to be a screen record?

    Best regards

    Hi Mike,

Providing the screen recording will make it easy for us to identify the steps you are taking when trying to import the reviews. This will help us understand potential issues with the steps.

Feel free to use something as simple as loom.com. If you’re using Google Chrome, you can use this extension to create screencasts:?https://www.vidyard.com/govideo/. Alternatively, you can use this solution:?https://www.screencast.com/. If screencasting isn’t possible, you can also provide us with a screenshot.

I look forward to your reply.

    Hi Kush

My sincere apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Running a business makes finding the time hard, but I’m back with a couple of screenshots that I hope help you see that the solutions suggested don’t seem to apply in my case.

The screenshots are in order, method 1, then method 2.

My screens do not look the same as those in the post, I do not have the options to import blocks or import the review.

I am 100% committed to resolving this and moving forward with Otter. All help appreciated!

    Regards

Seems the images did not embed. Is there a way to attach them rather than sending a URL? If there is, I cannot see it.

    Hi Mike,

Unfortunately, there isn’t an option to attach them. You’d need to share a URL.

    Thank you!

Hi Kush and Rodicaelena, I’m not sure what’s happened but I’ve not had an acknowledgement of my images which you specifically asked for, nor any reply for two weeks now! If someone could follow-up that would be so much appreciated. The link is to a private post showing the images requested and which I will delete once you’ve seen them.

    Thank you!

    Hi Mike,

I’m so sorry for not following up on this ??

I’ve just reviewed the screenshots you’ve shared and the entire thread and I’ve tried to replicate this on my side, unfortunately I can’t find a version of WordPress Product Review plugin that works well so I can test this.

I’ve tried with the latest one I had ( as the plugin is no longer available for download ) but it gives me a fatal error when trying to create a new post. So I can’t test this, and indeed there is a possibility that the migration process offered here https://docs.themeisle.com/article/1360-migrating-from-wp-product-review-to-otters-review-block is no longer available, as the plugin is retired since a long time ago, and many WordPress versions and changes occurred in this time.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there is anything we can do here, I’m sorry ??
