import to blank site

I used to use another back up solution, but just found this one because i need to install over an existing site. One feature I don’t see, is the ability to install an existing backup to a blank site. Do I always have to at least have a vanilla wordpress install before I can restore? Or do you have an option to restore to a blank site (assuming the DB already exists)
