Import Users, Prevent New Users from being Created

    I use the Import/Export add-on to assign groups to EXISTING users. (I first generate a list of existing WP users or a list from a registration form, then assign their group(s), and then import with the “Update existing users” option checked.

    But occasionally depending how my list of users is generated, I will get email address that should not be in the list, so new WP users are created for them which I don’t want.

    Is there a snippet or adjustment available that will prevent the creation of new users when the Import script is run?

    Having pointed that out, I would advise to review the lists that you are going to import before they are used.
