I switched my wordpress.com blog to be fully hosted on dream host. I did a one click install of wordpress on my site. I went to import my blog files, mapped my author name, and clicked import all attachments, and submit. I have the occasional error of the server timing out; dream host has confirmed things are fine on their side and cmd+r on my mac gets me past this page.
Next I get a page saying Import WordPress: Are you sure you want to do this?
but… that’s it, no button, no place to click, no action to take. cmd+r gets me back to that same page time after time. I’m stuck.
Dream host said tough luck and we don’t know what the problem is… any ideas out there?
I also use safari as my browser – could upgrading my browser to google chrome possibly help, given part of my previous problem was related to timing out?

In the Plugins section of your blog’s Dashboard, deactivate and delete the WordPress Importer plugin.

Now, when exporting your blog, you should be allowed to choose smaller date ranges.

If you can do that (try something between 2 or 6 months), return to the www.ads-software.com blog and try the import again with the smaller export file.
