Hello everyone!! I’m having a problem with the wp uploader. It’s now since days that i’m looking for a solution.

Basically when i try to upload an image the upload goes up to 100%, then when I go to check the media library i have around 700 images, all of them are the same, and they appear with no thumbnails, like if all of them are corrupted files. Instead if I go to check the folder via ftp, I have the right and working image, the same with browser uploader.

At the beginning I though was a problem caused by the theme because I noticed this problem after a theme update, but then I restored the old version with the backup that i did before the update, and the problem was still there. The theme developer said that with the theme everything looks fine.

So i tried to reinstall wp, but again nothing has changed, I tried without the plugins, but still not working, and the same when I tried to change the upload folder permissions.

I tried to contact the hosting and they tried to have a look, and apparently theme and plugins are fine, so they tried changing PHP versions, different .htaccess rules, stopping and flushing all caching system, but the issue persist.

Anyone with the same problem who figured out how to solve it?
Or maybe someone with any idea of what is going on?

    Thanks for any help

  • Have you tried:
-deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
-switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

I tried with the plugins, i haven’t tried with the theme because i’m a bit scared every time I need to touch it, but by the way as I said, after the update to the new version, I restored the backup that for sure was working.

thanks kmessinger. I deactivated the plugins as soon as I got the problem to see if it was related to one of them, but nothing changed. Then after your message, and days spent to find the solution I decided to try again. And for some reason what I didn’t see at first, is really clear now. The problem was wpml plugin.

    So this is solved correct?

yes, absolutely. I thought i had the last version, but then i realized i have to manually update it, and after that was perfectly working.
