IMPORTANT – Differences between various version of the calendar

  • Hi, let’s try to clarify what are the various version of our plugin.

    Lite – This is the version you get from www.ads-software.com – it has the basic functionality and it’s fully lgpl compatible – Latest version is 1.10.3

    Standard – This version can be downloaded for Free from our website https://www.time.ly – it has added functionalities like facebook integration and Posterboard view – Latest version is 1.10.1 – To install this version if you have lite installed the best way is to download it from our website and perform a manual upgrade https://support.time.ly/manually-upgrading-the-calendar/ following ALL the points to avoid losing events

    Pro – This version has an annual Fee of 75$ and can be downloaded from our website – This version adds more feature like csv import, Super widget to integrate the calendar in other website, export to facebook pages and more.

    Our advice is that you install the 1.10.1 Standard version as the lite version is much more buggy. This will change with 2.0 which we are currently developing where the codebase will be unified.

    Switching version is not advised as things can break considering the fact that the javascript engine is totally different. If you experience problem, the main cause can be the fact that the theme folder is out of sync so you must manually copy over the themes from our plugin root to wp-content.     Hi Nicola,

    Thanks for this explanation. Could you tell me – i’ve been wondering this for 1,5 years now – why do you offer this Lite version on www.ads-software.com? Why not instead have the Standard version here available to download on www.ads-software.com? And so to say: what is the function (the reason it exists) of the Lite version?

    all-in-one event calendar- exporting to Google Calendar duplicates events.
    when I submit an all-in-one event calendar to Google’s Calendar.. I see that my events are published in the google calendar. But if I repeat and submit the same AIOEC calendar again, I get a new (duplicate) calendar added to the google calendar. Does anyone know how to resolve this problem.

    More Info:

    I would expect that the previous Google Calendar, would have beed updated with any changes or any events that were added to my AIOEC Calendar.

    One difference I have noticed between ‘lite’ and ‘standard’ is that the event contact URL and the ‘Buy’ URL’s pass through a redirect via ‘aggregator.time.ly’. Is there a specific reason for this, rather than directly going to the URL?

    I assume that is one reason that standard can not be listed on WordPress as the third party linking isn’t disclosed anywhere?
