• Hey all,

I’m trying to move a WordPress.com blog over to a GoDaddy hosted server running www.ads-software.com software. I have exported the XML file from the .com site with no problem, however when I try to import the XML file using the WordPress Importer, it seems to load for a split second and then refreshes the page as if nothing happened. Nothing gets imported. No error message is returned.

I have tried splitting the file into smaller chunks, but it is only around 400kb in the first place. I have tried reinstalling WordPress and the database tables. Still nothing.

Also, The WordPress dashboard shows up cut off at the top like so.

I am using the site preview in cPanel to build the new site before switching the DNS settings. Is this why both the importer fails and the dashboard is cut off? I’m stumped by this one.

Possibly. Have you asked GoDaddy if they can give you a temporary domain name – many hosts will.

    I haven’t, actually! I’ll give that a try.
