Importing a Blogger to WordPress the images issue

so I want to import a blogger blog to wordpress, but I have a blog that features wallpapers so I have lot of images.
the question is I can import the posts and everything will be fine, leaving the images at the original host (bloggers picasa web albums)
BUT if I then delete the original blogger blog, will the posts images still appear as they have specific URLs since some of them are posted as attachments?
and I don’t want to keep both blogs, because of duplicate content.

or is it possible to transfer the blog with the images to the new host?
