Importing Album from Live Site to Local Site

    I am hoping to replicate my wppa albums on a local site using Local. I have successfully set up most of my site to my local machine using it.
    I am using Version 8.3.01.010 on PHP 73.5

    Wppa seems to be installed ok. Here is how the Local website page looks currently, ready for the images:

    But I am failing to import my albums from my live site.

    I exported one Album from my Live site. This creates a zip file in the live wppa-depot. That seems fine.

    Here is the import screen on my Local site:

    But the dialogue on this seems not to relate to what I am doing, which is hopully to import 202 images from the “live” album.

    Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    First you have to move the zipfile from your ‘source’ sites depot folder to your depot folder in the ‘destination’ site using ftp (like filezilla) via your pc.

    Then set the ‘Set local or remote’ selectionbox to local.

    If needed select ‘— my depot —‘ in the ‘Import photos from’ selectionbox.

    Near the bottom of the import page you can see the path to your depot folder.

    BTW: make sure you export the albums including the photo and album information (see the checkboxes to this on the export page)

    Thank you so much.. this worked fine. I will now repeat the exercise for additional folders. I’d like to keep this thread open awhile, but will come back to close it when I have finished. I hope that’s ok? And thanks again

    I forgot to mention that you can use the album names on the export page when they turned blue (and complete) as download buttons, so for that part you do not need ftp

    I chose to do albums separately, just for the experience. Also actually I used the cPanel file manager and not FTP – by choice! But thankyou for the extra tip, and I can close this thread now and wish you well
