I am VERY new to this. I have an old site that has custom post types that I am trying to export and then import to a new install. I was able to figure it out but only half-way. When I import, all the different posts show up but the data inside them does not. Its a staff directory with name, photo, email address, etc and none of that came over in the import. What am i doing wrong??

Unsure exactly how you’re performing the import/export portions, meaning are you exporting the database itself and importing into the new location with tools like phpMyAdmin or similar? or are you using the Import/Export tools from WordPress core and the “Tools” menu? I’m wondering if whichever method used is getting everything expected, extracted, or if it’s only handling some parts.

That part is largely outside the scope of CPTUI itself. That said though, as long as the new install is registering post types and taxonomies with the same slugs, things should generally match up pretty well. Biggest thing would be making sure all the arguments match in the new location, compared to previous. For example if the old site has hierarchical post types, you’ll want to make sure the new one does too, otherwise you’d lose the ability to make parent/child relations.
