Importing blogs from another site

  • Hi,

    I am new to WordPress, but I successfully created a blog site and now am trying to import blogs from my previous blog site powered by Google’s Blogger. When I grant authorization I get the following error message.

    Could not connect to https://www.google.com

    There was a problem opening a secure connection to Google. This is what went wrong:

    Unable to find the socket transport “ssl” – did you forget to enable it when you configured PHP? (19584960)

    Can someone please tell me what I need to do?
