Hi all,
after playing with a test installtion for a week, I finally installed WP on my main site and imported all of my previous data. Most of my data was imported completely and properly, but WP didn’t recognize my comments for some reason.

Each post shows now comments, but when you click on the comments link they all appear. If I go into comment moderation and click edit, then when I go back out to the page all the comments for that post appear.

Does anyone know of a way to get WP to recognize all of my comments at once?

Thanks, and I really love WP so far. I’m looking forward to making use of some of the plugins.

If you are running Spam-Karma (https://unknowngenius.com/blog/wordpress/spam-karma/), upgrade to version 2.1. If you are NOT running Spam-Karma, then if it exists, delete your wp-content/cache directory. If that doesn’t work, you should use phpMyAdmin to decrease, by one, the number stored in the db_version record of your wp_options table, and then run upgrade.php again. I am also having problems importing comments. I imported files from my original WP blog to the blog hosted on my site (which is also WP). It imports all the posts, but the comments do not carry over. Am I missing something?
My old WP blog is https://cynthiafalcon.wordpress.com , and my site blog is https://www.cynthiafalcon.com/SoarSpot

Hi Cynthia, if you did the RSS import, you’re only going to get posts, no comments.

Have a look at this plugin though: https://www.technosailor.com/wordpress-to-wordpress-import

Thank you, I was able to import comments, still running into problems though, the comments are not showing in the right spots. I think I saw another thread about that so I will have to do some digging.
