importing events: venue name import

We generally recommend importing venues separately and before events. That way, you can use a “Event Venue Name” field in your import, which will alllow you to assign a venue to an event.

I’ve done that.
I have created all venues first (and organizers too)
Once done, I’ve started configuring the import rule, so I’ve checked venue id and have match from source venue name to mine venue id so i’ve imported the event venueID.

Once done that, the events are created and the venue is present, but there are no details of the venue, no address, no map nothing present.
Also If i go to the venue page, it shows no future events…
I can not see the Event Venue Name field when creating the import rule, maybe that’s the problem?

The venue name is simply the post title. So while I’m unfamiliar with the import plugin you are using it ought to be fairly simple to configure this element.

Beyond that, I’m afraid, it’s not really possible for us to offer in-depth support in relation to third party plugins.

I understand that is complex to solve problems related to other plugins.
The situation is that I’ve been able to create new events with the correct venueID, but it dosn’t display correctly on frontpage.

The Import plugin let’s you import from Rss/XML source to create new posts and can detect custom fields. The event post have some custom fields that determine the Venue (_EventVenueID) the date (_EventStartDate) and more…
It would be interesting to know the custom fields used by your plugin.
