Importing from Blogger

  • I’m having a problem importing from Blogger. I get to the part where I click the “import” button, but it stops quickly, says 1/89 & the “set authors” button appears. Even after I’ve tried setting the authors, no posts ever actually import. Is there some kind of problem here or am I just missing something?

    I found a solution! Thanks to Alan A for the following post. I used the app & was able to import everything from Blogger perfectly.

    I cannot figure out how to use it… ??

    I am having the same difficulty.

    I tried using the tool mentioned, but it works only for files up to 1MB.

    Mine is 15 MB. Any ideas how else to convert and/or import my Blogger content to WP?

    I tried every link under Blogger and Google. Nothing has resolved the problem.

    Here’s what I’ve tried:
    1. Using WP’s import tool.
    Problem: It never grabbed all my comments. There should be about 6000, and the most I can get (with repeated tries) is 440.

    2. Exporting an XML file from Blogger and then uploading it to WP.
    Problem: WP will accept only a WXR file.

    3. Set up a fake account on wp.com, and use “the power of WP engines” to convert the files from Blogger; then import from wp.com to wp.org (discussed below.)
    Problem: The Blogger to wp.com part doesn’t work. No posts/comments actually migrate over.

    I’m open to more ideas or help with the migration of my content.
