Importing from WordPress.com

  • Hi,
    I already have a mysite.com built with a WordPress theme and a myblog.wordpress.com blog.
    What I want to do is import my blog to blog.mysite.com (or mysite.com/blog).
    I have found the method & exported my blog (https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/importing-content/), but there is no indication of how to specify the directory to import it to, or whether it must go to the root – & thus wipe my existing site!
    Does anyone know?

    Your best option here would be to create a new WordPress installation under a subdomain (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on creating a subdomain), then do the export and import as directed.
