Importing Image Galleries from one one WordPress blog to another

    I have imported certain posts of one blog into another.
    The images ‘sort of’ import as they just link to the old blog. That’s okay I guess.

    But my problem is when I had the WP ‘insert gallery’ feature in old posts. Those galleries no longer ‘show up’ on the new blog. How can I get this to work without manually re-importing all the photos?

    When you ran the import, did you tell it to import linked images?

    Yes. All normal linked images are fine. it’s just the posts when i used the ‘insert gallery’ feature…which inserts all the images you have in a post’s gallery. These aren’t showing up at all.

    For example…this post is an inserted wp gallery:
    https://www.llworldtour.com/2011/06/22/chicago-block-by-block-astor-street/

    Those pics don’t show up in the import b/c they aren’ t technically ‘in’ the new gallery.

    I have experienced the same problem.

    I’ve been searching these forums and google for an answer, but no one seems to offer any advice.

    I have exported/imported a blog from one server to another. I made sure to check ‘download and import attachments’ while importing… this took forever because there were a lot of images in this particular blog. All the images showed up just fine, but some of the galleries within some posts/pages do not show up. I checked the code and the gallery shortcodes are there, and I’ve checked the media library and the photos exist, but they don’t show up in the gallery anymore… the gallery is essentially empty.

    Any ideas on what happened and how to fix this?
