importing issues with post slug

I’m moving my blog to WordPress and I have an issue with the post slug for my posts. In Movable Type, I’d change my file name so that I could have any title I want. When I imported my posts into WordPress, that has been ignored but I’m assuming because the “basename” is no where in the import template. If I change my export template to include that, is there anything I can do in WordPress so that my post slugs are what I want them to be? I’d love to avoid editing 460 posts by hand if possible.
