importing ONLY comments from livejournal?
-
I’m in a bit of a rut with my blog… I love WordPress to death, and enjoy customizing it to my site. However, I also use livejournal, as that’s where most of my friends are, and where most of my friends will read/comment on my entries.
Since installing wordpress, I’ve just been syncing the entries to my livejournal using Livepress, which works fine. All the comments people have left are over on livejournal though, and I’d like to have them in the archives of my wordpress blog as well.
I was able to export all of my livejournal comments into separate xml files using Livejournal Backup, but I’m not quite sure what to do with them from there. I’ve found scripts to import BOTH livejournal entries and comments… but I just need the comments. The posts on my wordpress already have a livejournal post number attached to the key created by Livepress.
Is it possible to import these xml files with the comments and just match them to the livejournal entry number on each already existing post?
Also, I was wondering if it’s technically possible to use a hack like Livepress to sync the comments between entries from livejournal to wordpress as well as the posts… or are there restraints that prevent this from being possible?
Thanks for any advice!
