It’s a little while since I’ve been into the backend of WordPress but today I did
and updated WP Photo Album Plus.
For some reason it doesn’t seem to work as it did.
I uploaded some photos into the Media Library & then attempted them import them into an album and on the import screen it says it failed. In Album Admin the details of the photo is there but not the thumbnail.

Also, in the import screen, instead of going to the local folder where my photos are located (as it used to) it defaults to the following location: /home/sites/spotroom.co.uk/public_html/wp-content/wppa-depot/cron-job so I have to manually navigate to the photo’s location.

I also notice on the import screen that the message has appeared: ‘Photos that have (name)[album] will be imported by that name in that album.”. I never saw this before.
My questions are: What has changed in the recent update? How do I imort photos into an album?

Furthermore, if I create a new album & then attempt to import a photo into it I get the error: Unknown album

    – Pls update to 6.9.18, released a few minutes ago.
For some reason it doesn’t seem to work as it did.... should be fixed now.
    – If you want to import: your default location is — my depot — in the selectionbox on the import screen. If you select it and there is nothing in it, an information box will show you where to ftp the files to, e.g.:
There are no importable files found in directory: /mnt/web208/.../wp-content/wppa-depot/david
    – ‘Photos that have (name)[album] will be imported by that name in that album.’ is there for over 6 years. This is handy info in case you are importing previously exported albums. Ignore the message.

Have updated WPPA to Version 6.9.18.001 but the problems remain.

If I view the album from the front end it says: Missing thumbnail image #15371

So previously I’d add new a photo to the WP media library & then, via the WPPA ‘import photos’ I’d select a target album, check the image & use Start Import’. This now tells me it failed.
However looking in the particular album I see that the photo is there (photo name) but there’s no thumbnail.
I’m currently using WPPA Version 6.9.19.001 on all three of my sites.
It seems that the only way to import photos into an album is to use the WPPA ‘upload photos’ option.
Should I have been using that anyway & is the normal method now permanently broken?

I just verified that your procedure works on my test site.

Please verify if there are recent errors or warnings in the wppa logfile (See Table VIII-C1)

Do all imports from the wp media library fail or only those with certain names? If so, give me an example name please.

What is your setting in Table IX-D13 Default photo name ?

    Thanx for the info.

Pls install the current development version as described here.

    This should fix it.
