importing Posts fails

    I have exported the Posts from one site and have used Importer to load them into the present site but I get a whole lot of

    Post “Title of post” already exists.

    The reason I have tried the importing is that in the present site although in the admin view a video would show when I moved to the website view it was not there! So I deleted all the Posts in the present site and hoped to import them all from the other site.

    Since I had deleted them all why do I get the message telling me that they already exist?!
