importing previous blog db into existing blog db

  • I want to integrate a previous WordPress blog db into my new one. The new one has already been posted to for a few months AND it is the newest version.

    I realize I can just upgrade the original to rule out any issue there, but how can you import a database in when the posts will override the new posts?

    Is there a non-painstaking way to do this?
