• I’m working with someone who runs a web site with reviews, and who is using, basically, technology from around 1995. I’m trying to convince him to move to a CMS, and I’m suggesting WordPress because I use it for several sites. It’d be easy to set up the site for what he does, but there are some 30,000 pages of reviews that have been accumulating for more than 15 years.

Without going into any specifics about the way the pages are set up – they can be tweaked with some creative grep and sed scripting – is it possible to import static HTML pages into a WordPress database? I’m not sure there’s any way to get them into the database, and I’d like to have some ideas as we go further setting up specs for the new site.

Also, is there a limit as to how many stories a WordPress installation can handle? Will it choke with 30,000 stories, and another 200-300 a month?

    Thanks.
