    Hello,

I’m trying to import our old/open tickets from our old website onto our new website. I am using the built-in WP exporter and suggested WordPress Importer plugin.

However, I am getting the error message “Failed to import: Invalid post type tickets”.

I checked the database and it shows the post types “ticket” and “ticket_history”. I’m not sure if the discrepancy between “tickets” and “ticket” could cause the issue (or even how that discrepancy could exist?).

Please let me know how I can properly import these tickets.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, there is no standard way of exporting/importing the tickets. You have to manually export the database (using PHPMyAdmin for instance) and the files (using FTP or File Explorer).

How about your users? Did you already transfer them?

I’ll let julien731 go into details about this, and I’ll try to publish a new documentation about it.

    Cheers

    Hi,

Could you please specify which version of Awesome Support you’re using? Are you using the same version on both sites?

    Hello,

To answer Siam’s question: Yes, I already transferred the users over.

I am happy to manually export the data, I just need to know exactly what to do (i.e. the exact SQL command to use on which tables, and the files I need to move over).

No, we are using different versions on each site. Version 2.1.4 is installed on the old site, however there is no option to update it on the plugins page. (And until answering your question, I assumed it was up-to-date because of that. :/) The new site is using 3.2.9.

    Thanks!

Well first of all, you can’t upgrade from v2.x to v3.X just like that. Please have a look at the article we published about the migration: https://getawesomesupport.com/migration-v2-v3/

Thank you, I was not aware of the differences between V2 and V3. I’ll follow the instructions to migrate the old site to V3 and hopefully that will solve the issue! Thanks!

I migrated to from V2 to V3. Then I exported the tickets using the built-in WP export tool, and I imported them into the new site using the recommended WP Importer plugin.

Everything worked! Thanks so much for all your help!

Superb. Don’t forget to redeem your addons licenses in exchange for your Envato purchase code ??
