    Hi,

we are currently migrating from joomla to wordpress.
Since there are thousands of posts/items we have stopped the import since it was slowing down the site.

however all we get is “IMPORT STOPPED BY USER” and the button went to “importing”… and has been for nearly half an hour now and things are still very slow…

any help on this would be very welcome

we are now going to disable the plugin to see if it helps

You should try to do the import in local. Here is the procedure : https://www.fredericgilles.net/migrate-wordpress-local-windows-server/

It is more reliable and generally faster than doing the migration on a shared server.

currently looking into that and seems to be working too.
however is it also possible to refer to the live web url to a folder on the hard drive ? for instance our site is https://www.enola.be, if we have a folder at c:\\www.enola.be with all the contents there would that work ?

    kind regards

No, the original site must be up and running.
You must put the live URL in the URL field, even if you do the import in local.
