Importing WordPress.com Image Galleries to www.ads-software.com Site

  • I’d like to import my clients old WordPress.com blog into a new www.ads-software.com website. I’ve exported/imported the blog, but it looks like the image galleries did not transfer over correctly. Is this even possible to do? When I look at the post on my new site, it references [gallery] in the post, but the images in the gallery are not in my media tab. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • When you imported the WordPress WXR file you had exported from WordPress.com, after uploading the file, in the next panel you should have checked the box to include media files near bottom of panel before clicking on to continue. Try to reimport the file and check the box to get the media files.

    Thanks @mercime. This did not fixed the problem, however. When I import the file, I get this error on the images:

    Remote file error: Remote file returned error response 301 Moved Permanently

    Any ideas?

    i am running into the same problem. i did all the necessary steps including checking the include media box, but the galleries still did not import.
