    Hi!

I tried to import files from my Blogger account. That didn’t work because of funpic, so i registered an wordpress online blog and imported the data there.
Then I made an export of all these posts etc and tried to import them in my “mobile” wordpress blog on my funpic server.

The only thing i got by importing so far was

“The uploaded file was only partially uploadeded”

Alright…I read the announcements and stickies and tried all this, but nothing helped in any way. So … What to do now?

    Thanks for solutions.

    no ideas? ??

Try breaking the xml file into pieces and uploading.

ok…i tried it and still the same error. I broke it in two pieces, still with rss, channel and so on at beginning and end of each part.

each part is about 235kb. So there should not be an error, should it?

One suggestion I read said check your php.ini file and make sure post_max_size is larger than upload_max_filesize

    https://ca.php.net/features.file-upload.errors

If necessary, post your email address and I’ll send you an address you can email your xml file and I’ll try to upload on my test system to insure the problem is not the file itself.

I think the problem in this case would be, that my blog is hosted by funpic. So I have no chance to modify the php.ini, as far as I know ??

But anyway…following and reading your link it is not the ini filesize thing. Its the message with the partial upload, just as i quoted in my first post.

Okay then, install WordPress locally on your PC, import the XML file there, then use phpMyAdmin to backup your database and restore that database at your new how.

Seems that this solution is just exceeding my knowledge. Installing locally? How? How to usw phpmyadmin then locally?

    I am sorry…seems to be a bigger problem than i thought :-/

    Alright…got it. Found an installation-“helper” ??

I will let you know, if it worked.

Hm…i tried all this and it all worked fine importing the xml in my local installation.

Only thing is: How to backup and how to restore the database in the new place?

Hm, yeah, to some amount ??

I finally got it! Thank you very much. Now everything is on it’s place! ??
