Hi guys, I activated 2FA on Wordfence of my site, but now if I try to log in I get this message: CODE REQUIRED: Please provide your 2FA code when prompted.
The problem is that I didn’t get any prompt to type the code.. how can I solve? I don’t have a second admin account on my site so I can’t enter in the dashboard…

I had a similar problem recently and saw someone suggest putting the 2FA code at the end of the password (no spaces) and that worked.

Hi @elmonarca77, thanks for reaching out!

You can indeed try placing the 2FA code at the end of your password if you’re not seeing the prompt, but the likelihood is that there’s a plugin or Javascript conflict that is preventing the correct login process from displaying in the first place.

If you are unable to gain access at all, look inside the /wp-content/plugins/ directory and rename the wordfence directory to “wordfence.bak” using your host’s file manager or via FTP access to your site. This should at least allow you to log in. You can name the folder back to “wordfence” again after you’re signed in and set up 2FA again if necessary from Wordfence > Login Security.

To check for possible Javascript conflicts, test by disabling all plugins except for Wordfence and reverting to a default theme like Twenty Twenty-Two. Does the login process work as expected? If so, re-enabling your plugins and theme one-by-one should show at which stage the missing 2FA box error reoccurs.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
