• When I try to log in to my wordpress admin panel over my Siteground account, it tells me my password/username are wrong, and when I click “lost password”, it tells me that my username/email adress is not registered.

However, I can log in just fine on the actual wordpress site.

I have already contacted Siteground support about this, but as I am not sure whether WordPress or Siteground is responsible for this issue, I am posting it here as well, and would be grateful for any help.

  • I’m not quite clear on what the difference between the “wordpress admin panel” and “actual wordpress site” is?

When you say you can log into the “actual wordpress site”, does this mean you can access wp-admin and add pages and posts? If so, then I think by “wordpress admin panel” you are referring to your hosting account, in which case you would need to talk to Siteground.

Hi, thanks for the reply. The ticket ID is 2002858. It was initially about the inability to install new themes, but since then I have encountered this log in error.

    Hi,

Seems like the user has a different username than what you were using. You have a reply in the ticket with the details about it – please update it if you have any further comments or questions related to the case:)
