• Installs fine. Created a page /piwik/ and nothing. No tool appears on the page or link bar. Returned to wp-piwik settings page to find the page to create API Authorization.

GOOD LUCK! Its not in piwik.com header, not in the HELP section, not searchable, not mentioned in Forums. No links in their site regarding WP setup or anything related to API. Like its a myth.

What a terrible way to offer a plugin… you have to be psychic!

I recommend to read the plugin description before getting rude.

This plugin adds a Piwik stats site to your WordPress dashboard. It’s also able to add the Piwik tracking code to your blog.

To use this plugin you will need your own Piwik instance. If you do not already have a Piwik setup, you have two simple options: use either Self-hosted or Cloud-hosted.

You can also read the plugin’s installation notes: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-piwik/installation/ It offers a link to the Piwik user guide containing all you need to setup a Piwik instance: https://piwik.org/docs/

But, of course, you can also install a plugin you don’t know anything about, click around without reading the instructions and afterwards blame the plugin author for this.

As the reviewer is saying that the person who is installing the plugin needs to be psychic and NOT you (the author) I don’t really see a problem here.

It’s not a well worded review but it’s still feedback.

@jdembowski Sorry, I fall for some kind of a “false friend”. In German “psychic” refers in this context to insane and not to supernatural – my fault. So it’s as you say: not well worded but a feedback without offense. Thanks for your quick response!

Personally I find the plugin great and love it. The top review is rather rude and I would say if someone does not have his own server, but has a shared server and is unable to find his piwik folder, that is not the authors fault.
The user could still use the HTTP method anyway.
Regarding the API key I had to look around as well since piwik redesigned its user interface in the last 3 version. Again not necessarily the authors fault, it’s now under Piwik settings -> Platform -> API. Again not impossible to find, just takes a minute or so.
Again, if do not know your software and environment, then maybe the reviewer should better get a professional in to solve his issues rather than complaining about a great, free and well working plugin.
