Improve blog speed while on shared server

Hi,

I want to improve the speed of my WP blog (www.ewomanweb.com), but my host does not support gzip compression as it is a shared server. Nor is there any sort of option within CPanel to optomize (that I could fine).

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to improve the speed while on a shared host. As much as I would like a dedicated host, I cannot afford it.
