Improving WP Website SPEED

Hey there,

Just wondering if someone would be able to provide some advise. I am working on trying to improve the speed of my website and have done the common things that are suggested. However, my site is still slow. According to GT Metrix under the waterfall option, I have an initial waiting time of 1.1 secs. Any idea what I need to do to reduce this?
