In 5.5 where can I find the page slug

If you’re in full screen edit mode, click the dots at the very top right to return to (I guess I’d call it) partial screen mode.

yes, that’s fine but in the older version when cliking on the title in the editor the page-slug appeared. no longer the case. but looking under permalink works fine as well. thanks.

Did you just enable the new block editor?

no am using it for a few years

I noticed this as well – the slug doesn’t appear when you click the title. I don’t understand why little convenience features like this seem to get removed with every update.

What is your role when editing/creating a post?

If you are not using permalinks (i.e., settings->permalinks is “plain”) you won’t see a slug field for the document.

This isn’t for posts.

Pages. Website sub-pages actually. I was trying to give the subpages URLs.

Yes, Permalinks are Plain. Could you please recommend a tutorial link for me to understand how to create new sub-page URLs via Permalinks?

Just pick one of the other setings. I usually use just the “name” one.
