I guess it has something to do with added plugins, but the problem is major.

The page has been working fine all day, but all of a sudden this shows up

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /home/virtual/name of page/public_html/wp-content/themes/nameoftheme/functions.php on line 546

The thing is this.. we cannot even acces the login page at this moment, so how on warth are we supposed to fix this?

note that we are all new to this, and at the moment also freaked out:(

    Pls help!!!

  • you need to use either ftp (filezilla is a good free program) or a file manager if your host offers one

log on to yur server, and delete or rename the folder of that theme (it says nameoftheme) in the error msg

once that is done, when you next try to log on, it will revert you to the twentyten theme

my site seems not to be visible to google. I tried to sign up for an adsense account and they can’t find it. Also, if I type in the url into google search, nothing comes up (other than other sites) where have i gone wrong. the site has been online for a couple of weeeks. please assist.

@agoldstein Please start your own topic and don’t hijack others threads. You’re more apt to get help that way

    THANK YOU!

I could kiss your feet, cos I’m logged back in.

Such an easy fix and I had to freak out:)

It happens sometimes with plugins and themes. If you see any of those things within the error msg, now you know the fix!

where do i find the error message? also, i just deleted a recent plugin just to be sure, thanks for the tip.

@agoldstein I think you may be getting confused, I was replying only to @thethuss2, the original poster. One support question pre thread. If you start your own topic, someone will help as soon as they can
