    Hi,

According to the WordPress Dashboard, I have one Backup Guard “In Progress” backup that started automatically 8 days ago. The plugin admin page “BackUpGuard -> Backups” shows the name of the in progress backup with a red X to the right of the backup name but no other icons (i.e. no trash can/delete, no log download and no restore icons). In addition, there is the blue dots/circle thing spinning at the bottom of the page.

The max execution time on the site is reported as 1200 and the request frequency is set to 10 seconds.

Pressing the Red X button has no effect and, since there is no other icons, it is unclear how I can terminate the in progress backup. Further, it would seem that while the interminable backup is in progress, none of the other Backup Guard functions (such as deleting a previous backup) are working.

Please advise as to how to terminate the in progress backup and to restore the plugin’s functionality. Thanks in Advance.

    Doug

    Dear @dwturner ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

We are sorry to hear you are facing an issue.

May we kindly ask you to share the current version of your plugin, please?

Also, would like to suggest the following:

    1. Uninstall the plugin
    2. Delete the website cache with the possible cache plugin
    3. Install the plugin again

Check, if that helps with the issue.

We are waiting for the update.

    Best,
    BackupGuard Team

Thank You for your quick response.

The version of BackupGuard is 1.6.13
I have de-activated then uninstalled BG, purged the cache then reinstalled and activated BG as suggested.

After the suggested procedure, the WP dashboard appears to be correct but now I cannot access the “BackupGuard -> Backups” admin page. Whenever I try to access the page a pop-up window appears that that requires me to subscribe. After entering the required information, I am shown a blank screen with the following URL:

    https://hamiltoncameraclub.com/wordpress/wp-admin/admin.php?bg-verify-user-info-name=…&bg-verify-user-info-last-name=…&bg-verify-user-info-email=…&bg-verify-user-prioraty=local+backup&bg-verify-user-priorati-custom=

This is not a satisfactory solution because I am unable to access the back-up administration page. In addition, the other BackupGuard sub-menu admin pages display the rotating blue dots overlain on the page information. The rotating dots appear to block the save button on the pages making any changes impossible.

    Dear @dwturner ,

    Thanks for the information.

It is possible that the issue can be a result of the conflict between our plugin and one of the plugins or themes you have.
To figure that out, may we ask you to deactivate all the plugins you have and in case the issue is fixed, by activating the plugins one by one, locating which plugin causes the conflict.

With the same logic, please, try to check the conflict between our plugin and the installed themes.

However, we understand if you wouldn’t want to deactivate your plugins and switch themes on a production site, so it may be preferable that you set up a staging environment for your tests.

Some popular web hosts offer quick setups for a staging site so please contact your web host for assistance. If your web host does not offer staging sites, [this article](https://yoast.com/help/how-to-create-a-staging-environment-for-your-wordpress-site/) will help you create a staging site.

Please, keep us updated about the results.

    Best,
    BackupGuard Team
