• Until this morning is was running WP 2.2 with UTW plugin for tag support. Today I decided it was time to upgrade to the latest WordPress version, but I soon found out that UTW was no longer supported. I imported the UTW tags in the new tagging system, but in the past I used to add embedded tags from within posts with [tag]tagname[/tag] command. However I’m not just looking to add tags to a post that way, I need the “tagname” to be linking to https://www.sitename.com/tag/tagname, like some of you may remember.

    Example

Today the British rock band [tag]Oasis[/tag] will kick off their summer tour.

When I used to publish the post, the keyword Oasis would be tagged within the post, but also link to https://www.sitename.com/tag/oasis. The problem is I’ve got hundread of such tag keywords scattered through posts and most of my posts have a lot of [tag]…[/tag] brackets. I’ve installed Simple Tags plugin and enabled the embed tag function, however it just adds the keywords from between the [tag][/tag] brakets to the post, but doesn’t link to where it’s supposed to and furthermore it doesn’t even display it .

    Something like:

“Finish mobile constructor [tag]Nokia[/tag] have unveiled their latest entry level mobile phone” would turn when i publish to:

“Finish mobile constructor have unveiled their latest entry level mobile phone” (no Nokia)

Any hacks or tweaks that I can try to fix my issue? thanks a lot and waiting your replies.

    Ok… anyone?

    I have the same problem…

hundreds of posts full of [tag]…[/tag] brackets

    what to do?
thanks in advance for your help

    hi,
    the answer is here:

Embedded Tag Thing allows you to put tags inside your content, wrapped in [tag][/tag] markup; and also allows you to add tags in the content body by including a comma separated list of tags within [tags][/tags] markup.
