• Hi,

I’m trying to do a fresh install of WordPress on a linux server. After FTPing the files to the server and starting the install process I get hung up immediately with this set of errors:

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/var/www/vhosts/mysite.org/wp-config.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/vhosts/mysite.org/httpdocs:/tmp) in /var/www/vhosts/mysite.org/httpdocs/wp-load.php on line 29

There doesn’t seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn’t work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.

What’s a guy to do. I’ve installed WP many time in the past on other sites and have never encounterd this before.

    Can ya help me please?
