    Hello,

After removal of text links, it is no longer accessible to screen readers. Please bring back text links or offer an option for doing so. Screen readers cannot read symbols if not done correctly.

Thanks, look forward to working with you on this.

Oh, the “Edit” link is missing. Yeah, please don’t do another update like that, I’m a blind user and things such as changing links and not including text do not work out real well for me. Will be deactivating this plugin until fixed.

    Hi Alex

Thanks for your feebdback and I’m sorry to hear the recent update has affected you in this way. I was intending to include the text link option in next release so will deploy the update tomorrow for you. I will update you soon as it’s available.

    Hi Alex,

I’m still working on this, but just wanted to let you know that I’ve pushed up ver 1.3.2 which includes some support for screen readers. I’ve used the tag aria-hidden=”true” to hopefully hide the icons from screen readers, following best practice, and introduced screen reader only text that should improve link accessibility for you.

I would very much welcome any feedback following these changes, or any others for that matter, and will also advise once I’ve made further updates to aid your use of the plugin.

    Kind Regards,
    Matt.

Don’t see the update yet, but when I do, I’ll update and let you know. Have you merged in to WP SVN or is it still on a branch of GitHub?

    Hi Alex,

The changes were deployed last night to WP SVN. I don’t use Github for this plugin.
Let me know how you get on.

    Matt.

    Hello @webxmedia

I had to manually install. Anyway, not much improvement. Now all the links for banning and warning are smashed together with the “Edit” link which has switched positions with the “Delete” link.

Getting better, just needs some additional adjusting.

    Hi Alex,

I’ve just released version 1.3.3 which now includes the option to use text links instead of icons to improve accessibility. The option to use text links is available in the plugins settings page (i.e. Settings -> Ban User -> Options), then check the following:

Optimise plugin for accessibility / screen readers (i.e. displays text links instead of icons).

I’ve also fixed the issues highlighted in your previous message when using the icons.

Hopefully this improves things for you, welcome any additional feedback or suggestions.

    Many thanks.
    Matt.

Everything looking good. Now, just some capitalization you might want to look at, links should not look this different I wouldn’t think.

    UnBan User
    Warn user

    Something like

    Unban User
    Warn User

    might look a bit better.

    Thanks.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for confirming you’re now able to work with the plugin. Thanks also for feedback about text links I shall include in next release.

    All the very best.
    Matt.
