• Hi,

Nice plugin, thank you for it’s use.

    Here’s the problem …

I have noticed that the widgets created have now become ‘inactive’?

I could drag and drop each back to the the created widget folders but these are many and would take a lot of time in doing so.

Is there a way to restore them back to their respective widget folders automatically?

I have restored the site back up several times to figure out what has happened but, when doing so, the widgets become inactive?

Might be an idea to add a restore function so whenever this happens, the admin can select any/all inactive widgets and retore them?

    Thank you

Do you recall what changes or updates were made to the site before the widgets became inactive? And what are those widgets?

Even though moving widgets into folders takes some time, does this manual method work?

There were no changes, could be that the plugion was deactivated to bug test

Yes, but there are way too many with varing settings to do this

    Thanks

If I remember correctly the way old widgets can become inactive is by changing the theme. Maybe the theme was switched only temporarily? There may be a plugin update that is responsible for that too, but guessing there would have been more reports if that was the case.

On the other hand, what is the reason to use Classic Widgets? Widgets are just “blocks”, really. The old style widgets are far inferior to the new, block based widgets. Unless there is a plugin that requires use of the old widgets UI, maybe try using the new UI?
