    Does the “incoming links” dashboard widget that comes with WordPress work? I have never received an incoming link. No error messages, it just hasn’t ever produced anything. However, I can search elsewhere and find backlinks and pingbacks, and know specific websites that link to mine.

    Is it supposed to work? I’ve heard that Google no longer has this service, but cannot confirm it. Are there alternatives?

    P.S. I can do my own research, but so far don’t know the magic search terms to find it in the forums or on Google search. I’d appreciate even just a link to an article that could help me.

    Yes, it does but it may be that something in your server’s configuration is blocking access to the relevant feed data.
