Well, unfortunately I’m not going to be using this plugin any more or recommending it due to the above issues. Hopefully there will be a fix or some feedback soon, but in the meantime I’m going to move back to using regular widgets instead

Hi SK, the issues you mention seem to be mostly related to plugins that automatically add content to posts without any checks. I have added the option to disable the default post filters for this, but note that this is a hack since ultimately it is the responsibility of the plugin developer not to indiscriminately push content to all post instances on a page.

See also the part about social sharing plugins in the faq and the linked article: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/custom-post-widget/faq/

I do understand that it can be frustrating if a plugin conflict occurs, but it is unfortunately not possible to totally rule out conflicts given the enormous amount of WordPress plugins that are available.

I know it won’t help you to resolve this situation, but I do want to point out the fact that the Custom Post Widget plugin has more than 100k downloads and excellent reviews https://www.ads-software.com/support/view/plugin-reviews/custom-post-widget so conflicts are probably not that frequent ??
