The Jquery version of this plugin has some problem with WordPress 5.5.

The plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/ shows these errors :

Hello everybody,

Be sure that we are aware of this. Other people here opened tickets about JQuery versions among WP install.

By now, I have no solution, but we will continue to work on this.

For anyone looking for a temporary solution: I managed to fix it with Enable jQuery Migrate Helper.

lolzim: appreciate your efforts to keep this plugin running! Please update us when you’ve found a better solution.

Problem “Jquery Migrate Helper” won’t work with WordPress 5.6

Please note that this is a temporary solution which will only work between WordPress 5.5.0 and 5.6.0 is, and is not meant as a permanent fix for unsupported code.

So without footnotes update, footnotes will be incompatible with WordPress 5.6 coming 8 December.

@davidwd, @cconser, @julienfelix, @zek:?@lolzim, @markcheret and I are eager to highlight that @vonpiernik has shared a fix https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/tooltip-hover-not-showing/#post-13456762 and that this fix has been implemented, is now part of the plugin’s code and will be released very soon.

I apologize for not having been aware nor joining in sooner. The on-coming release will package all available bug fixes, and there are quite a lot.

The plugin author released v2.0.0 a couple hours ago, and the jQuery upgrade is part of it.
