    A couple of others have also reported this, and I tracked down the problem. (My view is that BruteProtect uses a particular WordPress hook incorrectly in their most recent versions.)

    We have attempted to get in touch with the BruteProtect authors about this (including a simple suggested fix), but we haven’t heard back.

    If you are able to also add your weight as a customer of their plugin, asking for them to help, that would be much appreciated.

    I can imagine it would also cause their plugin to be incompatible with similar login plugins.

    As suggested in the support thread I linked above, you could try rolling back to BruteProtect version 2.0.8.1 which worked correctly in this regard.
