• A warning for people who use Link Manager. This plugin will see that widget disappear from your available widgets and worse, will delete all your previously created blogroll links. Deactivate this plugin and they’re still gone. Installing this plugin has costs me hours of extra work. There is no warning anywhere that this would happen.

While I like the idea of this plugin, I think it’s wholly wrong to put forward a plugin that can do so much damage without comprehensive notes to warn people appropriately.

It’s literally impossible for this plugin to delete links from the Link Manager. You have something else going on with your install that deleted your links.

@jwhittaker99 Why didn’t you raise a support topic for this issue? I agree with Justin that it’s impossible that this plugin is responsible but a support topic would have been more useful than a 1 star review.

I didn’t post a support topic because the plugin didn’t look well-supported from the number of resolved issues and the last post by the author being 8 months ago. Since I didn’t think it would get resolved and I wanted people to know about it, I posted a review instead.

As for whether this plugin was responsible, I’m afraid I must disagree with you. After activating this plugin, the Link Manager widget disappeared from the dashboard and my links (added by that widget) disappeared from my pages. After deactivation, the Link Manager widget re-appeared but not the links, which had to be re-created. This plugin may not have deleted actual links, but it did something to Link Manager which caused those links to disappear.

All that you have proved above is that you have an issue that is specific to your site and not the plugin.

Wrong. I tested on a new theme with no other plugins active other than Link Manager. Added a link through that widget. Activated this plugin. Link Manager gone. Link gone. I have proved that this plugin interferes with how Link Manager works with no other plugins activated and with different themes. It is not site-specific.

Unfortunately, I just experienced a similar thing on my blog. I had a Custom Menu (not META) widget that disappeared after activating this plugin. Otherwise this is a nice plugin.
