Incompatible with Share Buttons plugin

Hi there,

Can you link me to the Share Buttons plugin you are referring to?

I am using a theme called Esperanza Lite

The buttons that are broken show up as pink facebook icons instead of their respective icons.

The code strung across my page is below.

I do see that there are problems with the share buttons on Downloads but I’m not sure there’s something that needs to change in EDD at this point. Please contact the support for that plugin and ask them if it supports post types besides posts and pages. It specifically says you can use the shortcode in posts or pages in the admin area but it doesn’t exactly say you can’t use them anywhere else. But that may be the issue.

After much back and forth with huge-it and granting them admin access to the broken site, this was their final reply …

I’m really sorry for the delay here. Unfortunately, I have no idea why they would said that. The problem is not even style related.

Again, though, you were using the plugin that is designed to work for Posts and Pages and it does not say it supports additional post types, which is what a Download is. If the plugin does not support additional post types, it’s not that EDD is damaging anything. The plugin just doesn’t support EDD’s post type.

I’m sorry about the long delay and the back and forth you’ve been led into. But EDD does not damage the share plugin. It just doesn’t appear to be a one-size-fits-all sharing solution.
