    Hi,

Your payment gateway is not compatible with WooCommerce’s new ‘block editor’ checkout. We can only use it in ‘classic’ mode which is very outdated in terms of design and integration with WordPress.
We’ve had to abandon using Revolut as a payment gateway until this can be fixed.

If we try to use the (now-default) block editor with the checkout we get this error: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1f7d7doBLVpBUnQi7

Here is a screenshot of the information for this error when we edit the page: https://photos.app.goo.gl/2xLVJUR2yUKMPkHY6

And here is the documentation from WooCommerce (linked in previous error): https://woo.com/document/cart-checkout-blocks-status/

This is also broken on the cart page which has the same issues.

When will the Revolut plugin be updated to work with the newer versions of WooCommerce checkout?

    Thank you

  • Hello,

I hope this is OK that I jumped in on this support post. We would also very much like to know when the Revolut plugin be updated to work with the newer versions of WooCommerce checkout.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Finn

    Hello,
apologies but we don’t have an estimate at the moment. We’re aware of this issue and as soon as we have an ETA about making our Plugin compatible with the Block Editor we’ll let you know

    Regards,

    Hi Matas,

Thank you for your response. This is actually a serious blocker to us switching to using Revolut.

Unfortunately, if there is not even an estimate of a time Revolut plans to compatible with newer versions of WooCommerce that doesn’t sound very positive for the plugins future.

Our company would have to go with a more modern payments solution if there is no plan for this.

    Thank you

We have also been victim to this which has caused a problem. We use the Revolut Merchant system for web payment links and also by card terminal and have been suffering with our online payments. It works but it’s not pretty or user friendly in classic mode.

    Hello @shadician and @matthewriches,

We can assure you this is currently being scoped, however making the plugin compatible with WooCommerce Blocks would require a considerable change in our plugin codebase, thus it might be a while until we make it happen.

This is on our roadmap, however at this point it is difficult to provide an ETA. We hope that for the moment, the classic view could be an acceptable compromise.

    Kind regards,

Thanks for getting back to me. I understand making the Revolut gateway fully compatible with the block editor is a lot of development work. But it has been the default payment flow since version 8.1 of WooCommerce came out last November (now we’re on version 8.6), and was previewed for some time before then too.

Using the old classic gateway is not a compromise we can make for the following reasons:

    • Security:?we are required to keep WooCommerce updated for security reasons and there is a major risk that WooCommerce will stop supporting the old classic gateway.
    • Client Trust:?our web development agency needs to look like we’re on top of the latest tech. Using an outdated payment system won’t give our clients the right impression.
    • Compatibility:?the old classic mode checkout is breaking if used in more and more modern themes, or just looks increasingly out of place due to the old styling used. That’s not a great user experience on our site.

We’re keen to stick with Revolut, but these worries are a bit of a sticking point. Could you give us even a rough idea of when we might see block editor support? It would help massively with our planning.

    Thanks again for considering this!

    Hello,

just letting you know our plugin is now compatible with WooBlocks.

    Kind regards,

Hi, I still have the same issue with Revolut Gateway 4.18.4.

Customers can’t even type anything in the card number field.

Does anyone still have the issue ?

    WordPress is in 6.7

    WooCommerce is in ?9.4.1

Hi @ocarinaspark this is most likely due to a plugin conflict. Cache plugins are usually the culprits. You can try disabling them and see if it fixes the issue. If it still doesn’t, then please reach out to our in App Help section and ask for your case to be escalated. To further debug this we would need you to share information that should not be shared on a public forum.

Follow these steps to reach out to our help section:

    – Open the Revolut Business App

    – Click on your account name on the top left of your screen.
    – Open “Help” section.
    – Scroll down until you see “Chat” option.
    – Click on “Start new chat” (chat bubble icon)

    Kind regards,
