Inconsistencies
-
Hi,
I’ve been analysing my website SERPS positions both with Rank Math and another SEO plugin following the algorithm update a couple of weeks ago and whereas when the other SEO plugin is being used, the SERPS go down, when Rank Math is being used, they go up.
Good news for Rank Math then, eh?
However, one thing that really binds with me is the inconsistencies that arise when changing over from ANY SEO plugin to Rank Math.
Once more I’m finding that there is an announcement on the ‘posts and pages’ pages saying ‘update your post’, but I thought that the whole idea of the initial migration was to do this.
I’m now having to go through around 15-20 pages of posts and pages to update them to Rank Math’s liking.
Also, the inconsistencies within Rank Math’s own analyser are rather strange – you’ll be merrily adding content, watching the SEO score going up, then saving it, and the SEO score goes down with a suggestion that you need to use ‘shorter paragraphs’.
Checking that all your paragraphs are in fact of the right length by editing nothing, and then saving it again, the ‘shorter paragraphs’ warning comes back.
Also, the SEO FINAL score is inconsistent, probably due to the above factors, going down from 94 whilst editing to 90 when edited, or 84 whilst editing to 79 when edited in some extreme cases.
The ‘contains images and videos’ setting is particularly inconsistent, as I’m finding that images within sliders, or used as content section backgrounds are not registered by Rank Math.
Finally, this ‘table of contents’ setting, not that I’m really bothered about this but I thought for the issue of clarity, it should be mentioned.
I use a table of contents plugin and have used it on maybe five or six posts so far, and so I was assuming that this setting would always be in the red.
Not so though, as even on the post categories, where it is impossible to add a table of contents, it shows up on Rank Math that I’m ‘using a table of contents’.
Right then, all my pages have loaded up now, so I’ll get back to editing them.
Thanks for reading, and any info would be much appreciated!
