The problem: Myself and others have independently checked the site speed over multiple devices and ISPs, and we are getting server response times of 5-8 seconds, 4 seconds for page to fully load, and searches taking between 5-12 seconds depending on the amount of results.
I first contacted my hosting provider, namecheap, and they said my site speeds were very good (0.5 seconds to connect to server, 4 seconds to fully load page). And I received good scores from gtmetrix (around 90-96%/100%).
But my google page insight results are varying greatly when testing back to back. I’m getting results between 33-77/100 on mobile and between 40-92/100 on desktop. When the scores are low, the number one suggestion is to improve server response time.
I’ve taken all the steps I could find on improving speed, and have seen good results, but I think there is more that needs to be done. If anyone knows what the problem might be or how to fix it, I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks! -Dean
