2 of my 4 sliders are exhibiting a problem with several of their thumbnails. The thumbnails that are rendering correctly point to ‘filename-150×150.webp’. The thumbnails that are working incorrectly point to other versions of the file such as ‘filename-420×236.jpg.webp’. All the thumbnails were created with the following settings:

    • Auto Thumbnail Images = True
    • Thumbnail Image Size = thumbnail
    • Thumbnail Width = 100
    • Thumbnail Height = 80
    • Thumbnail Position = Bottom
    • Thumbnail Pointer = False
    • Thumbnail Arrows = False
    • Fade Thumbnail Arrows = True
    • Thumbnail Touch Swipe = True

There doesn’t appear to be any way to edit the thumbnail path. I have tried recreating the slide, recreating the entire slider and recreating the ‘filename-150×150.webp’ image file. I’m out of ideas. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

When you use Auto Thumbnails, the slider takes the existing thumbnails version of the slide image. It doesn’t operate on the name of the files, it just takes those existing paths from the database. So please check how those images got those filenames and extension. Maybe you have another plugin which alter the images. If you can’t fix the actual issue, you could try to chose a different size for thumbnail image, like ‘medium’; maybe not all versions of the image are broken. Also, the slider allows you to manually specify a thumbnail image for each slide. There is a button on the slide panel to edit the thumbnail.

    Best,
    David

Thanks for the prompt and informative response. It looks like the thumbnails exhibit the same problem in the Media Library as well so it’s clearly not an issue with Slider Pro. I’m not sure how to fix the actual issue but your response provided some clues and potential workarounds that I was unaware of, which is much appreciated.
